Ok first of the thunderbolts made, this was a very tricky make with some of the folds for the hull being quite awkward so beware this one though a smaller build will take time and patience to get right.
The lascannons on the nose are from old imperial guard kits and the auto cannons all scratch built from wood and tubes, everything else is either plastic card, foam card or simple thick card.
Over all i was very pleased with the outcome as to me it looks very close to the original thunderbolt forge world model, ok once again not quiet as detailed but i think worth it for the time and effort, but as they say beuty is in the eye of the beholder and i am imperial biased slightly, a little.....ok LOTS!!! :D

Got a lot of options on a Reaver so far can take three from some though have to be mounted in specific places:
Apocalypse missile launcher G24-360 str7 ap 3 barrage 5

Gattling Blaster 72" Str 8 AP3 Heavy 6 blast

Laser Blaster 96" Str D class (destructor) AP2 Heavy 3 5" blast

Volcano Cannon 180" str D Class AP2 Ordnance 1 7" blast

Vortex missile G48"-480" str n/a ap n/a Ordnance 1 10" Blast basicly its a vortex grenade effect- one shot :(

Double barrelled Turbo Laser 96" Dclass ap 2 Heavy 2 5" blast

Plasma Blast Gun on rapid fire 72" str8 ap2 Ordnanace 2 7" blast
on Full 96" str10 ap 2 Ordanance 1 10" blast

Inferno cannon range Hellstorm ?(not read this yet) str7 ap 3 heavy 1

VulcanMega Bolter 60" str6 ap3 heavy 15
So lots of options have not yet decided..opinions pills?

well id say plasma blast gun, gattling blaster, and appocalypse missile launcher. gives a nice array of high ap firepower, and lots of blast weapon.

serious carnage. how many points is that likely to work out at?

though in terms of the chaos side, id suggest you take a bolt pistol, autogun and las pistol as weapon mounts!!!!!

I dont like the idea of the one shot vortex it seems good but then when you look at it its one shot over many.

I think, Laser Blaster, Plasma Blast Gun and a Vulcan Mega Bolter

Lots of shots, lots of AP, lots of dead chaos

I've got a question about the thunderbolt build.

How did you achieve the turbines on the engines? Actually how did you do the whole engine bit?

Looks awesome BTW

Ok engines well the main engine housing when you build it is part of the upper wing assembly, then the front engine cowling is a piece of tube cut to size then the turbine blades are all pieces of card cut and laid flat overlapping to create the turbines, the centre piece of the turbine is a warhammer helmet i think off a bretonian man at arms:)
The real trick as with all scratch builds is getting a standard of finish that makes you see what the builder wants you to see, mainly this is achived through the detailing section after the build.
Thanks for the posative feedback:D
