Titan Project

For a long time now iv been thinking about trying to build a 40K titan so being inspired by the last apocalypse game i thought id give it a go, i enjoy the challenge that some of these totaly scratch built models provide and im affraid i dont fancy paying forge world £295 for theirs, ok mine isnt as detailed as theirs but it cost me a bit less :rolleyes:
Anyway here are some pix of the first one, as always done up in my fav chapter colours of the Imperial Fists, this chapter apparently has its own Titan legion and certainly had one when they defended the emperors place....hope you find the pix interesting:D

Thanks Jade i was pleased it at least looked like a Warhound in shape etc, iv got a couple of more that i want to try and build so not quiet taking orders yet:) but why not have a go yourself? get out the sticky back plastic and the glue:) Id try one of the stompers first that are in the apocalypse book they shouldnt be too hard to make and are about the same points as a warhound i think?

mmmmmmmmm yellow baneblade:) ..to answer Kyles question should have 2 warhounds as from what i understand 2 titans of the same type is a titan section? if anyone has any other info on this please let me know:) then ill have a go at the reaver, however i also want to have a go at building some of the imperial thunderbolt fighters, after all air cover is useful keep those pesky orky fighters off my back :D

That's very cool, and cheesy. Which does explain why it's yellow.

And yeah, under the old epic system, two warhound titans formed a scout titan detachment.

yes Imperial fighters will be much needed next Apocolypse game as we didnt have many (1 Imperial fighter and an Elder fighter) compered 2 3 Ork Fighters. I will defo be getting a Warhound titan 4 next Apocolypse game n hopefully another company of Space marines hahaha

umm i might have to put some thought into doing a titan, cus they (proved above) look very swish!!

i can imagine something similar in my sisters paint scheme and that would look cool. umm i bet i get a nudge from a few people saying why the hell didnt i put a skirt on it or something...

iam getting fed up with all the sisters jokes so know what iam painting yellow on orcs........... fun ..........

anyway my real reason for posting is.. iam researching the construction of either a Valkyrie or a thunderhawk (before i move on to a titan) at the moment and was wondering if there could be a new section or thread in the appropriate section devoted to construction tips and such for titans as it seems many people are pondering the idea of constructing there own war machines. basically iam after some tips hehe

First off thanks for all the posative feed back guys much appriciated, scratch building huge warmachines is great especially if you have a good strong community like we have here that you can share them with.
Grim..yep yellow was airbrushed on and built up in layers but more on that in another scetion:)
Iv had a lot of people ask about building these huge warmachines so i will create another section here under the 40k section that will deal only with scratch building large warmachines and il try and give out what ever advice i can..sooo see ya there guys:)

awesome titan alan, can't wait to see more. fighters seem like a good idea, Phantine XX is a guard regiment that uses thunderbolts rather than infantry :D, sounds like a plan
