Had the pleasure of seeing a great hard fought game today with three new players taking part and every one of them seemed to have a great day.
On the union side we had spike in overall command with alex and RAF Chris as his second in commands, rebel forces were commanded by big mark who had Tony and charlie as his seconds.
The rebels made some quick advances and thought they had got the day but thanks to some real dogged hold the line stuff from the union army they were thwarted and their centre broken on that solid blue line, that spelt the end of the battle for the ragged rebs.
But it realy was a close run thing to watch and the tension was high:)
Great game and very well played to all that took part.
Big thank you to Andy for helping out once again with troops and scenics.

Well I'd like to thank both Alan and Andy for running this fantastic battle and to my fellow Confederate players for their galant attempt to break the Union line , but I must congratulate our Union opponants for their victory so well done to Chriss , Alex and Spike . This battle was going so well for us but in the end our centre crumbled under intense fire from artillery and the infantry rgts , the most awsome battle I've ever taken part in it was a real nail bitter to which way the battle was going to go . And the infamous Louisiana " Tiger " Zouarves didn't get destroyed which amazed me as they normally broken by the intense fire from the Blue Bellies , and also I'd like to note that the battle was fought with real gamesmanship and was a real pleasure to take part in .

I have to say that that was probably the most hard fought game I have seen in long time, with the battle ebb and flowing on both sides, nearly a confederate vistory but not today.
Better luck next time, and Charlie stay out of the corn fields.
