Hall [VOICE OF TRUTH]
10th August 3059
Free Worlds League defenders of Hall, consisting of the 1st Knights of the Inner Sphere and a divison of the Marik Militia, were attacked today by a mercenary coalition of Grey's Ghosts and the Scruffy Oikes. Initally the assualt ran into trouble when a Grey's Ghosts' Orion suffered massive internal damage when a LB-X round from a Marik Militia mech penetrated a weak spot on the torso, resulting in a rapidly overheating mech with no way to disapate a rapidly rising heat level. Meanwhile a Scruffy Oikes' Cyclops, piloted by the Oikes commander was lured into a salvo of LRM fire by a clever ploy by the Knights.
While the two sides locked in close combat, it was noted that a Griffin showed up behind the mercenary line, in the colours of that most disreputable unit, Wolf's Dragoons. Clearly this shows a greater conspiracy at work than a simple raid. Noted actions of this combat include a Bushwhacker in Grey's Ghost colours engaging Marik Militia mechs which outweighed it by twenty or more tons and coming off better, engaging two mechs at once as the remainder of the mercenaries pulled a fighting retreat from the victorious Free Worlds League mechs. Clearly though, this is only the beginning.
