Howdy all!
Ok, so for those who don't know what i'm doing. My army is Ogre Kingdoms, yes i know they get alot of stick for "not being in the background" and "being made up" but to those people, bite me, new things constantly happen in worlds so an empire forming and growing isn't that hard to believe so we should just accept it, ogres are here to stay.
Now background wise my army is based in the north of the Ogre Empire, up north fighting all the nasties of Choas, especially Mammoth, Beast and the other gribbly things chaos throws at us. So my Ogre tribe is going to be made to look the part with alot of mammoth skin and such. The look i am hoping for is a neolithic man kind of look, lots of clubs and very savage.
So for my first month i carefully looked at my options. I had to really decide on whether i wanted a character model or not in my first month, i had to do this because ogre charaters arn't cheap, they're big metal models and exspensive. In the end i spent my money on this:
£50: Ogre Kingdoms battalion
Now Battalions are a great way to go if you're just starting out, but for more advanced gamers they can have things that you don't want, don't need, or just won't use. Thankfully the Ogre kingdoms battalion is one of the best i think, sporting 14 Ogres and 24 Gnoblars. It has alot of options in it too, the box has the sprues for 4 Iron Guts, 6 Ogre Bulls, 4 Lead Beltchers and 24 Gnoblar warriors. From these sprues though you can make more Iron Guts and less Bulls if you wanted, or more Bulls and less Iron Guts. You can also split down them 6 Bulls into two 3 Bull units and split the 4 Lead Beltchers into 2 2 Leadbeltcher units. Gnoblars are small, with some green stuff i could convert them to trappers or leave them as fighters, the other thing is you get alot more then 24 Gnoblars, on every ogre sprue there are different Gnoblars, Sword Gnoblars, Gnoblars carrying bags, Gnoblars with fire, lots of the little things, all gnoblars and just looking for a base.
So that is my first months spending, a second post will be coming on the modeling side WITH PICTURES!!
