Tutorial Games at The Question's Starfleet Academy

[The Question]

For the past few Tuesdays, I have been running tutorial games for SFB. Over the course of a few weeks I have been teaching the basic rules for SFB to several people who have never played the game before, including Jeff, Spike, both James's and Matt. If you wish to learn how to play,please leave a message on this thread and turn up on the first possible Tuesday to start learning with other people of a similar level as you in a relaxed enviroment, rather than being thrown in the deep against far more experienced players.

I hope you are teaching properly this time and not using mid turn speed changes, full ecm, shuttles and commanders options like the game you did at STAGS.

Nice first game learning the very basic of game.

My first thoughts are its bit too much like battlemech in space and I must admit although I won I did not like mech that much so not sure how I will get on with SFB.

However its always nice to have a learning game when things are shown slowly and explained to you.

I have over the years been bought into games where the person teaching just rip's you to pieces and that never fun when you just starting.

Moving on though I have learn few games in depth over thoise years and I still get ripped to pieces (LOL) but at least I can see my mistakes and have laugh at my bad play.

Atleast he didnt use romulans to teach with

as i recall doc you play gorn, and their prime enemy is ummm romulans so its normaly good to learn to play against your most common enemy, also they both use the same primary weapon so you only had to learn 1 heavy weapon.

Anyhow you werent there to see the training game where all the above rules were being pulled out of a hat to kick some new guys asses.

Funnist thing i ever have seen is a guy being taught with Andro's now that was interesting to watch..didnt go very well needless to say..oh yes and the other one was a Romulan vessal fighting a Hydran that was a waste of time too. can you imagine first game using fighters and plasmas :D
