Dateline early 1863.
After many a defeat finally the Union forces have inflicated a defeat on the Rebels

The Vermont 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th regiments with artillery support drove off a Reblel force causing huge casulaites in the process.

With both flanks being the main sites of the action the artillery from both sides had little effect on the game.

On the left wing the 4th and 5th Vermont moved swiftly forward to engage the 2 rebel regiments in front of them and after a fierce exchange of volleys over 2 to 3 turns the Rebels were forced to withdraw from the field.

On the right flank, were the 3rd regiment manoeuvred from the center to support the 2nd Vermont who with limited amount of artillery support the 2nd Vermont managed to rout 2 regiments of Johnny Rebs.

The battle was bloody for both sides but on this occaison the firepower of the Union regiments was bought to bear at crucial points on the field and despite all efforts of the Rebels forces there was little they could do on this day.

Union forces must now try and consolidate on this win and move the cause of Freedom forward until full and complete Victory over the Condfederate cause has been won

Halleluia !!!! the March to freedom has began

Was another very interesting game i thought from an observation point of view, the battle could easily have gone to either side early on, but i think overall this time the union regiments seemed to manouver a little better and so were able to bring a greater focus of fire to bare. Rebel players had some good moves etc but the blue boys got the better of them.
Most important of all the feed back i got was once again very very posative and it seemed that all the players involved took a great step to a better understanding of the Iron Brigade rule set, well done to all that played today was a pleasure to watch :D

Congratulations to my Confederate friends - the plan worked we have lured the Oppressors into a fine false sense of over-confidence - we shall bring them into our trap and make them squeel like little yellow bellied pigs! :p

It was an enjoyable game and the main objective of learning some of the rules was acheived.... although it will take many more training games yet before I understand them fully!

My thanks go to Jeff, Mark, Andy & Alan.
