Right then, it seems that a fair few people want to play some War of the Ring in the near future, and we've seen a fair few youngbloods walking around with forces, including that one with, for some ungodly reason, a really large Dwarf (hawwwk, ptww!) force.
Therefore this thread is for you, the people to register your interest to play some WoTR at STAG's because at the moment, I have no idea about who has what and how much!
I'll start;
The Question
Fallen Realms
1000 pts (number subject to edit in near future)
well ill have to count up the points cost ( not used to worrying about points :)) but i have a ranger force led by Aragorn and an Isengard force that im working on right now led by some sqishy wizard bloke called Saruman :rolleyes:
Will post points later when i stop painting :D
And yes iv seen some of the youngbloods stuff..they have TONS! of troops !

Points - NOW 1500 points... but still not fully painted yet
I have a developing Spider army, although it will be expanded to other beasts from The Misty Mountains.
Points wise, i will need to work it out and create a legal army!!
should be sorting out to do a mordor army soon :) looking forwards to giving the game a go. ringwraiths :D
Have an army of Dwarfs 500 to 1000pts depending on what chars if any I take.
As my dwarfs lack fast movement I think I am able to take 25% allies. Can people confirm this and if yes any suggestions as what to ally with Dwarfs, as by nature we do not always see eye to eye with many other races. :p
Minas Tirith Warriors and Cavalry ? they are in boxed sets of plastic so they would be good choices maybe?

Jeff - hopefully said in Jest as it's more by stature than by nature that Dwarves don't see to eye to eye with any other race - more Eye to Belly Button me thinks!!

I have a fair sized gondor force (minas tirith, rangers etc.) with a few heroes, don't know exact points yet, let you know once they're all painted :D
Well, now that the Dol Amroth Knights have been confirmed in plastic, I can safely say that I will be definitely be starting War of the Ring.
Points wise, looking at possibly 2000, then again a unit of knights costs 240 on its own, so that's not a great deal >.<
I'm recreating the last alliance and have just over 400 points of elves and men.
...but then I also have Gil Galad and Elrond so add another 500 or so points to that :p

i have now sold myself to wotr aswell, having gone through the book a few times i have decided to do an army based from the black gate of Mordor, with the morannon orcs, which handily translates to roughly from the 'gate of blackness' fom elvish.

I've got about 1000pts of Misty Mountains goblins and wargs with Durburz and Druzag. Not played since it came out but the game is still sound and I love rolling whole handfuls of dice

cool that sounds like lots of goblins there, are they all painted? :eek: Its taking me some time to grind through my Uruk Hai ranks with the old paint brush :D

All painted? Remember who your talkin to! Last count I have Durburz foot and mounted and a wild warg cheiftan painted.
well I have 500pts of mordor orcs for practice games all painted, not that well but painted none the less, they just need trays.
and I hope to reach 1000pts of bronze armoured minas tirith at some point

Well i guess there are quiet a few armies around now archie for War of The Ring so welcome aboard :)
Watched Charlie and Ash for while at club today and got first idea of how play so thanks to those 2.
Checked my current rosta and I am at about 1100 pionts depending on what I do with my Rangers however I do not have any caster in my list and I am advised it good idea to have one so that something I need think about. I not 100% what caster Dwarfs would not try kill on sight so any advice would be good.

Have a look in the rule book at the spellcasters from the Forgotten Kingdoms, see what they have and which would best enhance your army. (Look at what spells they can do, and there effect.)
Apart from that the other casters would prob be elves, not sure that would work well from a fluff perspective - army of dwarves with one elf :confused:
i dont think they need it, casters are only somewhat useful, and for the points dwarevs can find a lot more practacle solutions.
I agree with that stan, to much is being made over magic because evil sides have it.
There is plenty you can do to combat magic and like you said the dwarves have other options that they can do.
well after two demo games in the shop last week, i have developed a nice liking to the goblin horde of moria. I will be assembling a Goblin King horde

Well being a lifelong Tolkien fan and having looked through the WotR book i hope to start a riders of Rohan army. (wants the charge of the Rohirrim from the battle of Pelennor field) Will most likely get a couple of formations of riders and some militia foot.
Welcome to all the new additions to this role call, all your forces will be most welcome to the battles we have planned, so thanks for the support guys!!
There is a great WoTR article in this months white dwarf and a big battle report..well they think its a big battle anyway...guess they aint played with us yet:D
sigh - Well the evil shop keep managed to convince Biff to buy the book after not having the stormboyz Biff wanted. Anyway if Biff was to do an army then Biff would do an Angmar ghost/monster army, led by that uber gargoyle thingy
About 700pts of Gondor, plus most of the heroes. This will go up to 1000pts as soon as the plastic Dol Amroth knights are released. :)

The charge of the Rohirrim will come to the rescue of the forces of good. My order is placed and i'm just waiting to collect my 2000pts of Rohirrim later this week.
Welcome on board Jim and stormblade getting a big pool of players now, just need to get those paint brushes going :)
