Well iv been asked to post a few pics of the Adeptus Mechanicus troops iv been working on. The Adeptus mechanicus troops are commonly called the Skitarii Legions, these troops im working on are from the line units of the "tech guard" called skitarius hypaspist troops.
Uniform colours iv gone for are deep red/black (adeptus mechanicus colours), im trying to keep the units "game legal" so most things will be made from GW models with enhancments modled on such as the excellent westwind WW2 secrets of the third riech heads iv used to make them look different than standard imperial guard troops (creds to robcoulman for the idea), anyway see what you think peeps:D

Alan,

nice The head look the biz!
Will post some of my Imperial Navy Company when I finish them. Have to say that I'm hooked now and have the thoughts of Valkyries and Vulture's - dropping Navy Defence squadrons into War Zones.

Ok Here is the main Commander finsihed with his command section, troops used are forge worlds cadian command with heads from westwind again and main commanders cap etc made mainly from milliput and a metal cadian officers cap. Banner was made using a picture editing program and some cut and pasting:)

Okies just incase you thought the painting had stopped here are a very few quick pix of the commanders chimera transport (sorry pix arnt sharper)
Its a basic imperial guard Chimera with "everything on". Back doors have had new hinges made so the ramp actually goes up and down and before being put together the inside comms section was added complete with comms specialist in the rear crew compartment, all insdie detail was scratch built ill try and get some better pix of the insides so you can see the detailing better.
Decided to put the Chimera on a abse again as i quiet like my tanks etc on bases now, for me it just gives them that little diffrent look :)

epic don't really come near chap!!

thats awesome !!

quick question on doing bases and such?

would you create tank tracks with the model before you attached the base or leave the base natural?

I tend to put the wood filler over the base and start to sink in all the rubble etc and place the model at this stage then create the required tank track markings while its wet, leave the model off while it all drys as the model will easily sit back onto the dried wood filler after.
Once the base is dry i then spray it balck and start to heavy dry brush it, then glue the model on the base then do the final dry brushing of the overall base/model when the model base etc are all dry this overall dry brushing then makes everything match in so the "dust" on the model matches the upper surface of the base:)

Another one fresh off the production lines and ready for battle, the first baneblade.
Obviously not a scratch build but the new plastic kit which i think is a great kit with loads of detail iv added the upgrade kit to it so it has a few more guns ! enjoy :)
(oh yes and the all important hunter killer missile :))

Okies here we go a bit more for the expanding mechanicus force decided that with having a tank company (pix to be posted as soon as they are based) then of course they would need support tanks! so here is the first one for them, an Atlas recovery tank.
Chassis obviously from a leman russ however the whole lifting gear and top secion plus back blade section had to be constructed from scratch using our old friends plastic card and 600g card. Crew figures taken from various super heavy tank kits (also yet to come) and once again using the great heads from westwinds secrets of the Third Reich range.
Anyways hope you enjoy the pix :)

Great pic's but when are we ever going to need a repair team I hoping that my armor will have destroyed all forces of Chaos and Orks before there is any "INCOMING" so I hope the above team will not be needed
